Little india is a different face of Singapore. That is true. Singapore is a cosmopolitan country. Singapore is a beautiful place and Little india is a very essential aspect of this beauty. Although Little India is small, it really tells us about the beauty of the Indians in specific and the Singaporeans in general.

Each place possesses its own beauty and Little India is not an exception. It is very very beautiful. There are so many things to think , to discover and even to contemplate. That is the reason why Little India is an attraction when you visit Singapore. Little India is very beautiful, attractive and unique obviously.

All are the most fresh stuffs and they are very cheap, probably cheapest in Singapore. ^^ So enjoy the flavors of these fruits with the cheap price.

And there are the most attractive kinds of drink here. They are made from tea, milk, syrup. Oh! Superb.

We arrived at Little india in a beautiful morning. We witnessed people did their shopping. They had breakfast, enjoyed the morning with a cup of milk tea. They bought the stuffs to cook for the whole day. As a result the ambiance is very bustling and I felt very excited to live in the Tekka Wet Market’s ambiance. Now, let’s look around and make your own feeling. )

Now discovery of the market is enough. ) Let’s go somewhere for the gifts and small things which I bet that you have never seen them before. When you put your first step into Little India Arcade, you will feel the strong, heady scent of rose, jasmine and spices. I think with me it is very an unforgetable experience. So , take a walk and begin your discovery of this unique place. TRUST me , it will be very fascinating.

They are the treasure trove of silverware, brassware, wood carvings and colourful silk saris, dazzling to behold.

These strings of flowers are used for special events.They are very colorful, are not they? They will be used in the wedding ceremony, the day when leaders or celebrities come to Singapore.

It is the cage and as you see there is a bird in that. Do you know what the bird is used for? It is used to tell about the future of a person and this bird is directed by a fortuneteller. I have tried, it cost me 5$ to hear about my future. And the result is the number 8 is  my unlucky number. But I was born in August :-SS so what will happen? Anyway I do not care:) Just for fun, I think so )

The next destination is the Sri Veeramakaliamman  Temple, it is a place of worship. ^:)^

Sri Veeramakaliamamman  temple  at  141 Serangoon Road is one of the oldest temples in Singapore. Built by Indian pioneers who  came  to work and live here the temple  was  the  first in  the serangoon  area  and   became a focus of early Indian socialcultural activities there.

We took a lot of pictures here. This is our final place for the interesting visit of Little Indian.  After that useful outing have learnt a lots about the Art and Architecture of Indian. This outing was an memorable experience  with me and my friends.

He thought that his dream was shattered and he felt really disappointed with himself. This was the dream that he had harboured since he was young. He wanted to become a medical doctor.

2, How did he arrive at that ambition?

When he was young, he was always interested in becoming a medical doctor. He had been watching a lot of shows when he was in his primary school of rescue 911.He felt adrenalin rush when seeing  the doctors save the lives of patients . He thought this was the work that he really wanted to do. He wanted to be that route to help people.

3,What was/were the reasons for his failure?

In the end after the IC1, hic grades were not good enough and he could not get to go farther. Because he could not go farther, he would not be able to apply in Medicine National University of Singapore and University in the United State. When he found that his grades were not good enough, he was really disappointed. This will not allow him to carry on the other subjects.

4, What happened next?

Luckily for Reuben Ng, he had good advisers at that time from his teachers. They had taken the edge of his disappointment. He had a very good teacher who was willing to conform him. One of them even talked with him until 2 a.m in the morning.

5.What was the most important question?

The question that struck him most was that :”Reuben . Why do you want to become a doctor? Why do you want to become a medical doctor?” .

6,What was his answer?

He realised that he did not know the reasons why he wanted to be a medical doctor. It was just a dream that he was obsessed about when he was young. Finally, he found that he really wanted to help people and make a difference.

7, What happened after that?

There was one door closed and one door opened for him. He realised that he could help people and make a difference in another way. He did not need to become the medical doctor. He explored his other interests. And he felt really interested in psychology. During the army, while he had time to read widely about human’s behaviours and psychology. He read a lots of books about that. Finally, he realised that he could do his aspiration in a variety of way and psychology was the one that he felt really interested in.

8, How did he pursue his interest?

He applied his researchs to make a difference in society. He was troubled in so many areas of research within the psychology. The first area of research was attraction- Why do people like each other? He used his time of his undergraduated level to shapen his skills as a researcher and in 2006, he received the NUS student achievement award for community services.

9, What goods did his research do?

He helped the teenagers to come over the nagative thinking . He taught the 3 skills for the students in more than 20 secondaries school in SINGAPORE. There 3 skills were very helpful for the teenagers. He helped the elderly too, by doing the researchs first and then giving them the recommendations. He thought that it was the type of people that was needed some help. This was the project that won him the Full Bright Scholarship. His works will be carried on at Yale University.

10, How would you describe his route to the FullBright Scholarship?

His route to the FullBright Scholarship was a hard one. He had to get over many challenges in his life. He has never given up. He tried his best to achieve what he really wanted. He was a decisive, powerful person.

Now, shall we try to discover some distinct and famous places in Singapore?. Yes, discovery of places, cultures, and people is very interesting.Let’s we go on an outing to civic district of Singapore. The first destination of our tour-guided is the Peranakan museum.Each place symbolises a culture, a kind of architecture, a period of history. The Peranakan Museum is also a very intriguing place for you and me to discover and learn about.

This is the overview of  The Peranakan Museum. It is the building consisting of 3 floors. Now, preparing yourself for the discovery of the Peranakan people. First,we are standing in front of Peranakan museum. Now, let’s walk into the museum and discover it.

In the gallery one, we can learn about the origin of Peranakan people.The gallery 2-5  was the wedding of peranakan people.We can see the similarities and differences between the procedure of the wedding of the peranakan people and people on my own country.We can see the public life of the Peranakan also. We can feel that we are living in the life of Peranakan people really.

Entering the Peranakan museum at the left-hand side we can see gallery 1. We’ll understand the history about Peranakan people and their origins here.

In Malay language “Peranakan” means “child of” or “born of” referring to people of mixed ethnic origins in Southeast Asia like the Chitty Melaka (Indian) and Jawi Peranakans (Indian Muslim).

Galleries 2 – 5 (Level 2):WEDDING PROCEDURE

The clothes of the bride and bridegroom are very sophisticated. And for the high-class people, the jewellery was all made of gold and silver. They look very very beautiful  and impressive. The bridal headdress, the wedding necklace, headband with 8 immortals figurines.

Next we can see the items that the families of bride and bridegroom exchanged before the wedding. So, What were some of these gifts? They were part of bride’s metal belt, bridegroom beaded slippers, a bride’s silver belt buckle, oranges, bottles of champion, clothes. Each of these gifts has it’s own purpose.

Next is the wedding procedure. We can also see the girl’s room with bed, curtain, embroider, the boy’s house with the chair, the table. All are very beautiful. Then, we can hear the song, a melodious song when the wedding is beginning and during the wedding procession. It’s tune resembles China tune, very interesting and melodious.

The display of the Peranakan kitchen featured here was an impressing of a traditional Peranakan kitchen from the second-world war period.There are many items which are not be used to day.
